Everything you need to know about working with AV Luxury Vacations.
Our Service & Costs
Yes — for the vast majority of bookings, our service costs you absolutely nothing. We're compensated through commissions paid by the hotels, resorts, and cruise lines we book. You pay the same rate as booking directly (sometimes less), and receive additional exclusive perks on top. For exceptionally complex multi-destination itineraries, a design fee may apply — we'll always tell you upfront.
Hotels, resorts, and cruise lines pay travel advisors a commission (typically 10–15% of the booking value) for bringing them guests. This commission comes from the hotel's marketing budget — it doesn't add to your room rate. In fact, our preferred partnerships often allow us to negotiate rates at or below what you'd find on Expedia or Hotels.com.
Often the same price — sometimes better. Hotels are required to honor rate parity, meaning they can't charge you more through us. Where we add value is in the exclusive perks: daily breakfast, room upgrades, resort credits, and early/late checkout that you simply cannot get booking on your own. That's hundreds of dollars in value at zero extra cost.
At participating Hyatt properties, Hyatt Privé bookings include: daily full breakfast for two guests, a room upgrade at check-in (subject to availability), up to $100 in complimentary property credit, early check-in and late checkout (subject to availability), and a welcome amenity. These perks are exclusive to bookings made through certified Hyatt Privé advisors — they are not available when booking directly or through any OTA.
The Booking Process
1. Complete our intake form (about 5 minutes) with your destination, dates, budget, and travel preferences. 2. We respond within 72 hours to acknowledge receipt and ask any follow-up questions. 3. Within 1–3 weeks, we send you 3 or more fully customized proposals with detailed itineraries, pricing, and all included perks. 4. You choose your favorite, we handle all bookings, and you receive access to your full trip details via our mobile app.
The earlier the better — especially for popular destinations and dates. For peak travel periods (spring break, summer, holidays), we recommend reaching out 3–6 months in advance. For off-peak travel, 4–8 weeks is usually sufficient. That said, we can often find availability even for last-minute trips, so don't hesitate to reach out regardless of your timeline.
Our primary specialty is hotels, resorts, and cruises. For flights, we can provide guidance on routes and timing, and in some cases coordinate air as part of a full package. For straightforward domestic or international flights, we typically recommend clients book directly with the airline to maintain maximum flexibility for changes.
We're here to help. Changes are subject to supplier cancellation policies — some bookings are flexible, others have penalties. A $250 agency fee plus any applicable supplier fees applies to changes or cancellations after booking. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect against unforeseen circumstances. Please review our full Terms & Conditions for details.
Specialty Travel
Absolutely — kosher travel is one of our core specialties. We know which resorts have reliable kosher dining, which cruise lines offer certified kosher menus, and how to plan Israel trips that work seamlessly for Shabbat observance. We also plan trips around Jewish holidays and can accommodate varying levels of kashrut observance.
Yes — honeymoons are one of our favorites to plan. We coordinate special amenities with properties (rose petals, champagne, private dinners) and choose destinations and resorts that are perfectly suited for romance. We also know which properties offer complimentary honeymoon upgrades and packages.
Yes — we manage room blocks, group rates, and coordinated bookings for families, friend groups, corporate retreats, and religious communities. Group bookings often unlock additional perks and negotiated rates. Contact us early for groups of 10 or more to secure the best availability.
Yes! Walt Disney World, Disneyland, and Disney Cruise Line. We're familiar with Disney's complex hotel, dining reservation, and park pass system and can guide you through every step to maximize your experience — especially for families with young children.
Practical Questions
We strongly recommend it. Travel insurance protects against trip cancellation, medical emergencies abroad, lost luggage, and supplier defaults. Declining insurance means you assume all financial responsibility for any changes or cancellations. We can help you understand your options — though the final decision is always yours.
We're your advocate — before, during, and after travel. While we can't control supplier actions, we do our best to resolve issues on your behalf. Having a travel advisor means you have someone in your corner rather than being alone on a customer service hold line. For genuine emergencies, your travel insurance provider should be your first call.
Simply complete our intake form — it takes about 5 minutes and gives us everything we need to start crafting your perfect trip. We'll be in touch within 72 hours. There's no obligation and no cost to explore options with us.
Still have questions? We'd love to hear from you.
